Just wanted to drop one last post in here and tell of our great trip to BSG LAN in Michigan over the past weekend. (April 11-12th) It was good trip really. We were supposed to have 6 MoJo's there and due to RA's health issues and Idio's PC quirks, it was just myself, Talyn, DefLamb and new guy Lethal.
Talyn and I drove up on Friday in nice 70 degree weather. Fog hit us as we approached the event and the temp dropped sharply. We puled into the hotel, stepped one foot on Michigan soil and then it hit..lightning!!! I told Talyn right there, something bad is gonna happen!
We found the liquor store and relaxed for a few hours. We met my good bud Jonas from BSG...and he stole one of our beers. A good dinner...blah blah blah!
The event started at 8pm and think we finally got setup by 9pm. Lethal joined us at about 10:30pm that evening. It was awesome to meet him. He's one cool cat!
The CoD4 tourney was supposed to start at 1am, but due to server config issues didn't get going until 3am. That got us worrying. We knew Lethal had to be on the road by 4:30 at the latest.
We had to pickup one guy to make a team of 5. He didn't have the right game version, didn't know how HQ worked.....but he still did rather well I think.
We won our first match in dominating fashion against a team I thought would be our only strong opponent. After the match Lethal was ready to leave...then our pick-up guy said he had to leave too!!! We found out we could play our next match immediately and could not sub in new people. Lethal and the ringer decided to play the match just for formality really, because we knew we couldn't win the thing :(
At halftime we were down 125 - 195, but quickly tied it up and took the lead at the start of the second. Then (remember the lightning omen) all hell broke loose.
Our pickup guy got disconnected from the game at the same time our vent server connection crashed! Come to find out the guy across from him unplugged his power cord!! So we had to play a man down, and without voice comms, against a team made up of some damn good players. Needless to say we didn't fare to well!
O well, we had fun hanging out and we knew we couldn't have finished first anyway due to people needing to leave. That just happens when the tourney starts at 3am and we planned on being done around 4am!
It was great to meet Lethal and to see DefLamb again. Next time we hope to have RA and Idio in attendance! It was a fun group ther at BSG and they had some great prizes. DefLamb won a Hiper 850w power supply! Congrats!
Until next time guys! There are other events out there and I sincerely hope we get some more MoJo's going to these representing. It's quality fun. You won't be disappointed I can guarantee it...no matter what the tourney outcome is!
Take care, and I'll be keeping a watchful eye on everyone!! :) If I can see straight that is!
