Week 7 of competition saw the Red Devils win 2 special matches. One was to reclaim the top spot on the TWL HQ ladder against a team that beat us a few weeks ago in our worst performance thus far in CoD4. The other was a special tribute match for the late Lynn Hoy who died of cancer the week before.
Tuesday February 26th. TWL Hardcore Sabotage.
MoJo 4 - 1 Heavy Duty
This was our first match after learning that my good pal from PES365 league lost his wife with her long battle from cancer. This match was dedicated to her memory, her kind thoughts and prayers she and Davie offered me when I was going through my brain tumor tests and to Davie and his 4 kids that are now without her.
Everyone wore +LH on their gamer tags and was pupmed up and determined not to lose this one. At the half it was 3-0 favor of MoJo. The 4th round saw a fierce battle as it went deep into overtime with HD winning it due to our lack of patience! But The Red Devils made sure it wasn't a repeat 3 in a row performance like they had the last time we faced them and we pulled out a 4-1 win for Lynn, Davie and their kids.

Wednesday February 27th. TWL Hardcore SnD.
MoJo 8 - 11 Haze Team
This was our last match on the hardcore search and destroy ladder. MoJo has reorganized their SnD efforts by bringing in some dedicated and skilled SnD players with a focus on CAL season 2. The new guys did not play this match and our heart really wasn't into it as we knew it was just a formality to play.
MoJo led 6-4 at the half after being on the attacking side. But HAze showed they were more prepared on their offensive and they came out victorious 11-8.
The SnD team is now off the Hardcore ladder and on the Modified ladder at TWL. This will allow them to prepare in "normal core" mode in competitive play until CAL season 2 starts. Great expectations lie with the new SnD team...good luck all!
Friday February 29th. TWL Hardcore HQ for rung #1 (Match of the Week)
MoJo 680 - 360 GoM
This was the big show of the week. Again without one of our stars, BigKahuna, as he always leaves when we play GoM! I think he gets scared if you ask me!!
The Red Devils went into this match remembering our terrible performance to GoM a few weeks ago that cost us our #1 ranking at the time. Sometimes it takes a bad loss to really make you look at things to improve on as a team and we did just that.
The map was Overgrown. A big map with a lot of HQ spawns that proved to be a challenge against a very good GoM team that had some good long range shooters in their arsenal as well. The first half started off really well for MoJo as we went up by a decent amount mid-way through the half. But one complete 2 minute hold of the Gas Station HQ for GoM propelled them to a slim 10 point lead at the half. Believe it was 260 - 250 in favor of GoM at halftime.
Confidence was still high, and the teams never give up attitude showed up again in the second half. MoJo really dominated the second half only allowing GoM 100 points. The Devils used fantastic comms and teamwork and executed a great HQ defensive/offensive performance to put MoJo back on top of the HQ ladder! TopDog put in the performance of his life going 52 - 26 and was barking, yes barking, rather loudly in vent. Great match Dog and great team effort in this one Devils!
A Forfeit Win
Our first challenge in the Modified SnD ladder with the new team was a lame duck. The team never accepted the match and MoJo gets the forfeit win and moved up from the bottom of the ladder. We don't like freebies, but it happens. Great start SnD team!! lol
In conclusion
Fantastic week! We have DGServers on board as a partial sponsor and ,with any luck, another one here very soon. We showed our true colors by dedicating a match to a complete stranger for you all...except for me....and we won it in grand fashion. We went into a rematch with a team that rolled us a few weeks ago to reclaim the #1 rung in HQ. This week saw the best come out in all of you. Unselfishness, dedication, desire to win, teamwork and that all mighty motivator....redemption!
Great job Red Devils. The original Red Devils would be proud as you all have that "We Will" attitude. Next week is shaping up to be a challenging one. We are going for #3 rung on the sabotage ladder against a good DEV team and GoM's partner clan, W4R, has challenged us for #1 on the HQ ladder. Two big matches next week. No time to relax!
