The CoD4 Red Devils had another busy week lined up after taking the #1 HQ rung. There was no time to rest as the Devils had 3 matches in a row to start the week and would end the week defending their top spot on the HQ ladder. They finsihed a very sound 3-1 after it was all said and done, but the one loss was a big one.

Monday Feb 4th, TWL Hardcore SnD MoJo 11 - 4 AKF

Another SnD map on Showdown and another win. Something about that crazy map that we like it seems!!

Tuesday Feb 5th, TWL Hardcore Sabotage MoJo 4 - 0 CoRe

The map was Bloc and the last time we were on Bloc we shutout the other team...in HQ ..1300 to 0. Sabotage proved to be a lot tougher task on this map.

The first round went deep into overtime as the Devils had to defuse the bomb at least once, but held it together by some great last man defending and somehow got the round 1 win. Please Devils...don't ever do that again while I am listening and not playing...I am going bald fast enought

The rest of the rounds went rather quickly and convincingly...another shutout win on Bloc!

Wednesday Feb 6th, TWL Hardcore SnD MoJo 11 - 5 NSD

After our Monday win, we challenged up and NSD's day choices were either this date or at the same time as our HQ match. So, we had to do a quick preparation for this match.

Map was Countdown, one we've never ran on SnD. Practice went, well, ok for Aymuni...everyone else was not as confident. So obviously I am thinking "ok this will end out big winning streak" but NO...the Devils played exceptionally well and routed NSD!! So much for last practice vibes!

Friday Feb 8th, TWL Hardcore HQ MoJo 200 - 1040 GoM

The Devils were in defense of their #1 ranking on this ladder. Practices went very well for this map, but when it came gametime....it was a different story.

The Devils grabbed the first HQ and held it for the full 2 minutes. Then the bottom fell out. GoM then proceded to destroy us with a spreadout attack and great defense. They knew the chokepoints to cover while defending and they worked as a team, but never running together too much. Their random shooting through walls was, well, curious to say the least.

It was by far the worst performance we've given as a team. Voice comms went to crap about 10 minutes in as a few got frustrated and then it carried to the others.....once that happens you're done.

Like I told the team last week, they are beatable...anyones beatable. Don't think for one minute you can't lose! We had won 10 in a row, maybe 11, before this match and maybe it is a good wakeup call for the team to experience that kind of loss. If that doesn't fire you up for the next one...nothing will.

All in all Devils, great week. 3-1 is nothing to be down about. Yeah it would have been nice to defend the HQ rung...but we'll have our shot again. First off, we have to keep #2 from another smack talking clan, MOB. Seems their buddies with GoM so no surprise of that!!

Keep up the hard work guys, we have a important Sabotage match this week and Monday we face probably our biggest competition yet in SnD. Not an easy week ahead!!

Aymuni Ayu!
