TWL kicked off a little over a week ago and MoJo Red Devils have been super busy competing. It's been a great start for the 'Devils, but not without setbacks. We are currently 2-0 in the Hardcore HQ ladder and up to rung #5 with a challenge initiated for the 3rd spot there. Search and Destroy on the other hand is our achilles heel. Currently we sit at 1-2 there with the only win being a forfeit "win".
Ladder recap: TWL HQ
Our first match was a tough assignment, mp_Bloc. The team practiced really hard for this map and the results were nothing short of miraculous. Not since the SWB1 days at NERV had we pitched a shutout on a map, but after 2 rounds it was MoJo 1300 and Ao1 0. By far the most impressive win I've seen. Don't believe it, here's the ending screenie. (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/yodalizard8/shot0030.jpg)
Our second HQ match would prove to be a lot more competitive as we faced GWN on mp_Pipeline. With very little practice on the map it was 240-200 at halftime in favor of the Red Devils. We then brought in the S-A-W, TopDog himself, and MoJo rolled in the 2nd round to a 540-325 victory over a good GWN team.
Ladder recap: TWL SnD
First match was a rushed affair as ACTF wanted to do the map the next day, so we did. Cargoship was the map and you could tell we were unprepared. It was a 11-7 loss for us. No excuse on the lack of preparation, the team really didn't rise up very well...but theres always next time.
Farm was our next map against COF, a super tough map to attack on. With no practice due to the busy week we dropped another game by the score of 11-7.
All in all it's been a really fun and great start to the Red Devils competitive campaign. HQ seems to be our strong suit and more work needs to be done with SnD. HQ matches will indeed get much tougher from this point on as we are near the top of the ladder, so don't get cocky Devils!! Never underestimate anyone!
Soon we will be venturing into the Hardcore Sabotage ladder where we also hope to find similar success as we have found with HQ.
Keep it up Red Devils!! We're off to a good start, but there is still plent room for improvement!
